Default Grandparents of a six month old baby want custody

Grandparents of a six month old baby want custody of the child. The mother is abusive and has admitted that she is not interested in the child. The court pended the case until the social workers investigate the grandparents. This procedure will be about 6months. The grandparents are not allowed to see the child until the investigation is over. How do i obtain s speedier investigation and visitation rights for the grandparents?

As discussed in depth here.

The Mother has all the rights, the known dad has iddy biddy rights, Asumming an unknown dad has iddy iddy biddy biddy rights. I think I would break I would break my "D" key trying grand parents rights.

But they argue for the sake of it, just wait.

I don't know about the state you are in, but in South Carolina for the grandparents to get custody you will have to prove the mother and father unfit and the child is in danger. Or if both parents are dead, and even then they will take into consideration things like your age, income, if you can support the child, etc.

Also, I'm not sure on this, but may be something worth looking into. You said the mother is not interested in the child. See if she will agree to you adopting the child. I'm not sure on the laws, but I would think you would need the father in on this too, or it could come back to haunt you later.
