Unwanted house guests

My wife and I have split up but still live together in the house we jointly own. Recently her family launched a verbal attack on me in my home in front of my children (their granchildren) I've told them they are no longer welcome in my home but my wife is obviously unhappy about this. I've told her she can take the kids to visit her family but they're not to come to our house.
My question is, where do I stand legally if they should come round as my wife's guests? Can I have them removed?

Practicality rules, here. You of course cannot prevent your wife from having any guests she wants when you are not at home. But if you are home, I suppose you could physically bar the door to prevent them from entering and there is nothing they could do about, assuming the scene that will result is worth the outcome.
Do not expect police to intervene if you are trying to kick people out of your house once your wife has invited them in.
