Default Cobra Insurance question

I have a friend going through a divorce in Ct. He is close to the end and his soon to be ex is a miserable person. She wants him to pay her Cobra insurance for 1 year. He refuses to and told her she could have 2 months and then it was done. She had a hysterectomy 11 months ago and got 3 different dr's to sign notes saying she cant work. Well that is done and over with and she still does not want to work She has an earning capacity and she can in fact work. Also they went in front of the 2 arbitrators to decide what the settlement will be and they told her she has to get a job with insurance. When they went to see the family relations people the last time his soon to ex and her lawyer said they wanted alimony for 6 yrs. The family relations lady sadi thats it 6 yrs. They go to court this last time and now she has changed her mind and wants 10 yrs of alimony. They dropped it to 8 and then he said he would tell them he would pay her alimony until the son is 18. Alimony has nothing to do with the child and they said 6 yrs and it shoudl be 6 yrs shouldnt it? Need some advice please
