Hello, my husband an dI have been living apart since November, although he has not served me with any papers at this time. What he has done was keep me in the home with my son and continued to pay mort. bills, car insr. Also, he has a credit card that is under his name only I am the second card holder, I do not pay the bill. Since he has left he has not removed me as the second cardholder and I have been putting necessities pertaining to my child on the credit card, I have not been using it for pleasure. Since he left he continued to pay a fair sum on a monthly basis, now he only pays the min. payment. I was told that I am not responsible for any payments on this credit card if he did not want me using he should have cancelled me off. What I am wondering is could he be hoping that I abuse it to rack up debt. So that when he submits a financial statement he will use this as well so that I hurt from it as well? Or is he and only he responsible for all debt incurred after date of separation?

You are not liable on the card to the card company that is correct.

But the amount may be considered if you two end up in the divorce court...
