Question jurisidiction of judge

My mother has filed under section 125 of CRPc maintenance against my father in the family court of Uttaranchal whereas they live together in UttarPradesh. The Judge was to deliver the judgement in favour of my mother but got a doubt of his jurisdiction. Here I mention that we have our ancestral home in Uttaranchal but settled in the border area of Uttaranchal and UP, the house in Bijnore district. Can the Judge give maintenance order. In the petition two addresses were shown, first address being that of the present one of Bijnore dist, second being that of Uttaranchal which is our ancestral home.

Default Re: jurisidiction of judge

one of them needs to be residing in the jurisdiction where the court is unless the court previously had been involved with the matter
