J-visa expired

dear mr or miss,
i am french and i spend one year in NY as an aupair. So i've J-1 visa, will expired the 6th october. I knwo i can stay on month more in the territory and if i leave the territory i may not be ablle to re-enter in USA. The thing is i plan to go in vacation in a cruise to bahamas the 9th ocotber (just few days). Its before my departure for France who will be the 16th october in NY. So if i show my ticket flight do u think i may be able to re enter in USA? its in two weeks so please help me.

possibly yes but you leave that in the hands of the border personnel and frankly you never know...

best to pay whatever fee you need to pay and re-book your tickets so you don't have any problems at all
