My wife filed for a divorce a month before. My attorney told me that she will drag the divorce to extract spousal support for a longer time since she do not work. Also, I have child support to pay.

Now I have to increase my income to make both ends to meet. If I file for separation at least my extra earnings will stay with me.

Please advice!

Iam married to a american and have been now technically for 9 years, we
split up almost 3 years ago as he went back to the usa and i went to see
him he said he was going to spply for visa\'s etc but instead he disapeard
and keeps on moving i found out a few days ago that according to his
sister he remarried which is news to me as we are not divorced, this man
is a liar and i feel sorry for any woman as he cons women all the time, he
is from mass but according to his sister she said he has moved to
california with his new wife, here in england this is called bigamy and
there is noway he can divorce me without me signing any papers unless he
has lied as he knows i am in england and pulled a fast one and put an ad
in the paper knowing that i would never see it, this man needs to be put
in prison as he breaking the law and he also keeps moving to avoid child
support, is it likely that he will end up in jail for this or not or is
the american law that slack that you can lie and pretend you have tried to contact someone and in reality he has not,

i had started divorce proceedings but he i was told by his brother tore up the
divorce papers, so this man seems to be able to do what he wants including
getting re-married and nothing will be done to him, let alone the child
support laws there, i apologise if i seem like i am bad mouthing the american law as i am not just frustrated over this man who is a liability to any woman he meets.

I also defended myself against this man when i was in the usa many years ago and i was pregant with our 1st son together him and his friend said i started so i spent the weekend in jail, pregnant and scared he laughed at me when i came out told me he had a great time why i was in jail, i had to pay him or pretend to pay him $100 for this as the lawyer told me it would be dismissed, which it was and i was also told by the same lawyer there would be no record of it, i should of left this man way back then by like a fool i never i kept trying and he just took advantage i also overstayed by 1 day one time and when i did try to go back one time which was 6 years after this incident i got refused entry as i had not put down about the incident as i had forgotton about it only when the immigration officer kept saying about something in my past i finally realised that could be the only thing he meant, i told of it and explained what the lawyer said the outcome of it is that they told me i could nevr use the visa waiver programme again and would have to apply for another visa if i wanted to visit another time.

So really i have 2 questions how can i find out if my husband did get remarried and if he fraudlently divorced me through lies and 2nd question is am i actually allowed to come back there as it has been 3 years more or less since they revoked my visa waiver and told me i would need to apply for another visa, or is that there nice way of saying you will never be allowed back in, my husband spent time here in england in prison for his continued violence against me.
