all my friends were hella scared and the driver of the car would get in trouble for all of it if i didnt take credit so i did just that i came out of the sub way and said "officer the drugs in the car are mine"

A police officer... My girlfriend and her friend were out in our small town, standing across the street from where the car they were driving was parked. A police officer drove by several times, and then stopped. They were asked by the police officer to get back into the parked car. When they asked why, they were given the response "because I am the police." Once they were in the vehicle, they were asked to get out their license and registration, and they complied. Upon taking out the registration, they realized that it was expired. The police officer then went about making out the ticket and photographing the expired license plate. It was their understanding that the Officer did not know that the registration was out of date until after the registration was presented, implying that he had not known before he made the strange request of asking them to get into a parked car for questioning. The ticket to me is not the issue, but the unorthodox procedure enacted leaves me disgruntled and concerned. Upon taking his leave, the officer said something to the tune of "You can challenge the ticket in court, but I don't recommend it" citing the photograph taken. Can anyone give me advice on this matter? I live in British Columbia, Canada.
