Angry .18 breathalyzer test & impounded Minnesota plates

My Daughter got a DWI with a .18 test result yesterday in Minnesota. She was driving my truck and they impounded the plates. How do I get my plates back or do I have to get W plates. She is not on the title, her permanent address on her DL is my home but she dosen't usually live with me.

Also, how long can she expect to lose her DL for and what are the other penalties she faces? She is 18 and has 2 minor consumptions on her record and was speeding at the time of arrest. I plan to put her in a treatment program in the next couple of weeks after we get a Chem dependance assessement. Any suggestions that would help her case before she has to appear in court?

I wish to inform you that your daughter can have to pay a fine up to $1,000 or jail up to 90 days or both. Further there can be licence suspension for 90 days if alcohol consumption is less then 0.20. and if concentration is 0.20 or more then 180 days licence suspension. Generally when licence plates are taken at that time police officer will also issue a permit for the temporary licensing of the vehicle within 45 days so you may have temporary licensing.

Didn't the DWI laws change in MN on July 1st of this year?
