Confused DUI In Quebec, Canada

I had a DUI in quebec April 21st. They suspended my license for 30 days and my court date is June 20th. The problem is I moved to San Antonio, Texas and am living their now. I will be returning to quebec to take care of this case. This is my first offense, but I would like to know if this will be on my record here? I currently do not have a texas license and am waiting until the suspension is lifted to apply for it. My first two blows were at 112 and 99 mg/100ml and I was very co-operative and not drunk at all. I am worried that my problem in quebec will cause problems for me here. So should I fight this and spend a lot of money to get it taken care or just plea guilty?

You should fight it and try to keep it off your record; it is well worth the cost of a lawyer.

It can haunt you for a long time, as to jobs, your US license etc.

your the idiot that chose to drink and drive. It doesn't matter if you thought you were drunk or not. you shouldn't have had any alcohol in your system. What would have happened if you had killed somebody. what would you have said. "Oops i wasn't drunk" you drink and drive you suffer the consiquences.

YOU are also and idiot and plus you don't spell very well. I'm pretty sure everyone who comes here for advice knows they screwed up. Why are you here? Obviously not to give advice.

Make sure you get legal counsel (or at least legal aid ) to try to keep this off your record eventually--jail time is probably avoidable if your record is very clear now. But having that arrest and/or a conviction on your record will make job-hunting etc. more difficult. Often this could be negotiated down to some kind of court supervision etc. If it eventually appears it cannot be negotiated down, or you need to discuss this in more detail with senior counsel to review options etc., please let us know...or email World Law on their home page above.

Question Re: DUI In Quebec, Canada

What is to be expected on my future court date due to a refusal to take a breathalizer test. I got a 30 day lisence suspension and towing on the spot and I signed a promise to appear due to a possible DUI. I initially got pulled over for speeding... This took place in Montreal Quebec.

Hey: morethan29,
if you do not have information to contribute, keep your fingers off the keys, no one wants to hear it.
