Default Is it better to have a job when appearing in court for an ONVI? -- Ohio

Is it better to have a job when appearing in court for an ONVI? He drives a delivery truck for his job, and was thinking of quitting before he loses his CDL license over this charge, in order to be able to use his current boss as a future reference. He was not arrested, but received a ticket after crashing into a light pole and totaling his car. He is also going to joing Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) this weekend to show that he is taking an action to help himself.
