OK someone I really need advice or something... about a month ago I was arrested in the state of New Jersey for "loitering with an intent to purchase drugs". I pleaded not guilty to the charge and have to appear in court tomorrow morning. I was just wondering if anyone knew what the maximum punishment is to this crime if I am found guilty? I'm just getting a little worried as to if this warrants jail time or anything? I have never been in trouble or been arrested before, I am a 20 year old full time college student who was unfortunately with the wrong people in the wrong area at the wrong time. Nothing was found in the car and the charge is only loitering with an intent. If someone could elaborate on this and tell me what I should expect tomorrow in the worst case scenario I'd really appreciate it.

Jail time is very unlikely but make sure you try to keep that off your record, at least eventually--that will hurt with employers if they see it,
