illegal search

I was awakened by my daughter telling me a lady said she hit my car. I went to the door and she asked me to come see the damage. At that point ncis officers ran into my house, hands on guns. I was kept outside approx 15 to 20 minutes and then when they came out they informed me of a search warrant. One week later almost the same thing happened. They rang the bell, asked me to step outside and after going through my house searching and taking pictures they asked me to sit down and then showed me a warrant. At both times I was constantly asking whats going on. Are'nt they suppose to announce they have a search warrant first? By the way I live on a miltary base.

They have to show it to you reasonably soon. That was probably not illegal unfortunately.
