I was arreted for less than a gram of marijuana as well as a gram of crack in georgia my paperwork says ocga 16-13-26 but the charges are now saying 16-13-30 can the officer change the charge after my booking. Is there a chance I can get this to a lesser charge this is my first offense and I am in school and will lose my student loais.This was a felony charge is there something that I can do I thougt about contacting the DA and trying to ples this out since this was my first offense and such a small amount I figured that with the amount why waight myste the time with this case if it can be helped. I am seeking some advice as to what might be the best choice.

They can change at any time until your case is at trial, closed or you are sentenced.
