Need HELP In Kentucky

I arrived at a friends house the other night to drop off some baby formula. When I arrived, he had a couple of bags of pot on his kitchen table. We sat down and he was about to roll a joint and a cop came to the house to serve a traffic warrant on the owner of the house. The officer stated he saw us "playing with bags of pot". When he asked me who's it was I said "not mine" and so did the owner of the house and the pot. He and I both were charged with trafficking within 1000 yards of a school. This was not my house, not my weed!!! When I went to court the judge denied me a public defender,saying"I make to much money" I make 33,000 a year and have 4 kids at home and a wife and I am the only one working.To compound matters I have been off work having to have 2 major surgeries back to back with the next one happening on 02/02/2009. While I am am off on a medical leave my short term disability is only 60% of my pay. I CANNOT AFFORD A LAWYER and yet cannot go into this without one??? The owner of the house supposedly told the cops that the weed was there before I arrived but if that's the case, how can I be charged with the traff charge???

You need to hire a lawyer. Don't try to handle that by yourself.

You were there with the pot so you have some legal issues that have to be dealt with. Normally you will get this reduced to a fine etc.

But work with the lawyer to keep this off your record!
