17 year old facing drugs charge in New Zealand

The police found about 100 ecstasy tablets in my cousin's car today, and I have a few questions about likely outcomes. And no, I don't condone what he's done, I just care for him that's all.

Will he be charged with just possession or is there a chance he could be charged with trafficking? Will he be able to get bail?

He is 17 years old so will he appear in a juvenile or adult court? What are the likely outcomes for both courts? Will he have to go to jail?

He is the father of a 2 year old girl, will this be taken into account at court? He has also had a less than perfect family life, his mother walked out on the family when he was young and his father has virtually disowned him.

I know he has been in trouble with the police before as a minor, I'm not sure whether he was convicted, but I think he had to do some intervention program or something. Given that he has some previous criminal form, will this also go against him during his trial?

I would appreciate any advice, thanks. And yes, he's a silly boy, but trust me, he's worth saving.

Likely outcome: charged with, possession of narcotic with intent of distribution, possibly manslaughter, if so, 5-10 years in federal prison.
