Possesion of Marijuana Under a Gram!
I was caught with possession of under a gram. I want to know do I need to hire a lawyer, or can I do this by myself? I can afford a lawyer, but only if I tell my father, which I am dreading. Is a lawyer really necessary. Also, can a lawyer take this off my record, or will it even be on my record?...State of NJ.
btw, I have a clean record. No previous arrests or charges, ever. THANK YOU. |

One gram should be a misdemeanor and is not a felony. No attorney is necessary. Normally this carries a penalty of a small fine. Might as well tell dad though, since it will probably be published in the paper.

I was just cited last night for possesion of marijuana and possesion of paraphernaila it my first offense when they searched me though all we had was the paraphernaila but no actual marijuana on us can they still charge me with possesion of marijuana when there was none
