Exclamation Urgent answer needed.

I currently have an interim proection order against an ex-boyfriend. It was served 3 months ago and he has abided by it. It has however caused conflict and tension with friends and family in turn making my life hell.

What are the possible options ie how would I get it set aside if I chose to do so? What conditions can I have it set aside? Would a letter stating apology or admittence be sufficient?

And what are the legal implications if it is set aside and he does preform an act of abuse again? Would I be able to reinstate the order?

I live in South Africa and really need the right advice.

You have to show the court why the danger that justified the order no longer exists.

He has taken anger courses, perhaps more family are involved, he learned his lesson clearly and you can show that, etc.

He has abided by the order and has not contacted me. Would a written apology surfice to have the order cancelled?

NO court, judge, attorney, system, ect. is going to let a you pull their chain about a restraining order. The only way it can be dropped by you is if you lied about the incident in order to get him in trouble. And, if you did that, be prepared to face criminal charges yourself. Either he hit you or he didn't. If he did, i suggest you leave it alone. If he didn't, deal with the consequences.

And, if he is putting you up to saying you lied about it and you didn't, you need to call the district attornies office and tell them that.
