I currently have an interim proection order against an ex-boyfriend. It was served 3 months ago and he has abided by it. It has however caused conflict and tension with friends and family in turn making my life hell.
What are the possible options ie how would I get it set aside if I chose to do so? What conditions can I have it set aside? Would a letter stating apology or admittence be sufficient? And what are the legal implications if it is set aside and he does preform an act of abuse again? Would I be able to reinstate the order? I live in South Africa and really need the right advice. |

Try speaking to the prosecutor, They have the right to continue to pursue the case on their own (even if you don't want them to) but if they feel this was a one-time incident and will never happen again--they may drop it. They want to make sure no abuse is continuing if and when you two are back together.
