Default papers

my ex girlfriend called my mom and said that she was serving her papers for me for an order of protection and supposed 4 other cases. i dont live with my mother and i am married now. what should my mother do if she does show up and can she legally file papers.

i was never abusive to her, i just left her and she is bitter about it.
what is the law in new york about cases like this. she told my mom that she would have me in court in two weeks

any advice would be great.

Yes, she can file, basically anyone can file anything they wish. However, filing and prevailing are 2 different things.

If you do not live with your mother, your mother should refuse to accept any papers FOR YOU. Your ex will then have to have you served properly according to the local/state laws governing service.
