I had a guy hit me in the face a couple times I had to go to the hospital we called the cops and he ran so the cops never found him. But later on he went and turned himself in this is the 3rd time he has beat the crap out of a girl plus he was on probation this last time. What will he get out of it because last time he got nothing at all besides a little fine help please. Want to get a hint of what might happen in court dont want it to be a big shock when I go.

I wish to inform you that the penalty for repeated assault or battery depends upon the state where the offense has taken place. It is the duty of the State to prove the allegations being made against the person. Generally, it would result in a jail time and a fine. In some states, there is higher punishment as the offense gets aggravated when repeated.

Most states have victim advocates which you should have available to you -- to support you now and in court. The victim advocate also works with the prosecutor to see that all facts are brought out. So I would call your local prosecuting attorney and ask for a victim advocate or call your local domestic violence hotline and they will see you get the help. You should not have to court alone. |
