need help for kids sake
We live in TN. I have been divorced for 10 years. It was an abusive marriage. My kids are 15.8 and 11.8 years old. Their father has been abusive to them since the divorce. We have been to court with proof, (pictures, documentation) and with psychologist reports, due to the fact no charges were ever brought about he walked out of court with more visitation. He is known in the community, pulls strings, and can afford a better attorney than I can. This past week while visiting with our kids he believed that our daughter had her cell phone with her. He searched her room, pocket book, and patted her down looking for the phone. He could not find something that wasn't there. He then threatened to have his wife strip search her. The next day when i picked my other son up from school, she came to my car in tears. She said "I am not ever going back to his house and there isn't enough law enforcement in this town to make me!" She explained what had happened and told me she was afraid of him due to the fact that he is crazy or something. I texted him to let him know that I had her at that moment. We then went and called an attorney and filed for an order of protection. She is a nervous wreck about facing him in court next week. Does anyone have any suggestions? She is also feeling guilty and worried about the fact that she "abandoned" her 11.8 year old brother to deal with their father all by himself. Please help. The attorney fees to take him back to court are out of my price range. Not sure what to do. I have been taking both kids to therapy.

She can just calmly state what happened. It dies not have to be a major event.
Even going through this procedure will put him on notice. |
