just a question for you ... my father inlaw and mother in law have 2 houses .. my mother in law lives in 1 all the time ... my father in law lives in both but the 2nd house he uses as his drunk play ground .. and honestly its sending both of them into debt... is there anything she can do?.. he is very abusive alot of the time during his drunk .. and honestly she really would like to just devorce him and sell the 2nd house .. can she do this ?

Unless they can agree there is little she can do until she files for divorce. But if she files, she can ask the court to intervene asap and the court will likely do so, and force a sale or force re-financing etc.

Of course she can divorce him.

The judge would make a ruling on the two pieces of property. They might rule that the 2nd home goes to him but all financial responsibility go to him as well. If the two parties cannot agree on how the property is divided, the judge will order the properties sold.
