Confused child visitation rights

My daughter soon to be 11 yrs old in march does not want to see her biological father....He was absent from our lives until Oct 2006, when I contacted him and aasked if he changed his mind and wanted to be in her life. He came back and moved in with us and over 2 years he became very abusive toward me and had no relationship with my daughter. I am now filing for child support and my daughter does not want to see him...Will she be forced to visit with him? im in the state of NJ...please help

if and when dad gets court ordered vistation, your daughter will have no choice but to go, or you can face contempt charges, and done enough times, she will be living with dad and visiting you. when she is 18, she can decide not to see dad, untill then, once there is a court order, she has no choice.

There are many court orders regarding visitation that are not enforced by either parent. She doesn't have to see him if she doesn't want to, and he doesn't have to do anything about it either.

There are many children who don't see their father not because the child doesn't want to, but because the non-custodial parent doesn't want to, and doesn't try to enforce the court ordered visitation. It happens.
