What can i do?

My sister lives in new york city with her 3 kids and her husband, she is triyng to seperate from him for a long time, i knew that they where having problems, but i was talking to her yesterday and she told me for the first time that this man her husband has been insulting her for the longest, from bad words to the point that he dosent help pay for nothing, she 's been teling him to leave, one day he tells her hes living and then he dosent, I am realy fustrated and dont now what to do i live in puerto rico and i feel usles that i can help her. My fear is that he is phiscaly abusing her and she is not teling me nothing. Are there eny law that protects her? What can she do to remove this man from her apartment? Can some body help me or give me some kind of guidance?

She can file for divorce and get the court involved asap. The court will grant temporary orders to govern the living situation until they divorce is complete and they have divided their assets etc.
