falsly accused

My boyfriend & I were argueing, I dialed 911, gave his name and stated that he had choked me. When the officers arrived I denied the choking happened but had marks on my neck. I refused to write a statemant or allow pics to be taken. After being subpeonaed I went to talk to the s.a. I then stated that it was a big misunderstanding and that I blew things way out of perportion, the arguement was strictly virbal. I signed a waiver of prosicution yet she filed the charge {DOMESTIC BATTERY BY STRANGULATION} the very next day. Is there anything I can do at this point to get these charges dropped ? I am willing to addmit to a jury that I lied on the 911 call and except charges what ever they may be!! PLEASE HELP ??

Try speaking to the DA, They have the right to continue to pursue the case on their own (even if you don't want them to) but if they feel this was a one-time incident and will never happen again--they may drop it. They want to make sure no abuse is continuing if and when you two are back together.

I went thru the same thing not long ago, remember that in some states only the courts can decide if dropping charges, in my situation after almost 15 months og trials and hearings the state dropped the charges when my ex-girlfriend told them that she was taking the 5th! in other words they couldnt make her testify so you dont have to lie or tell anybody you did just take the 5th!

I dont' get it!? Did you really lie or are you just protecting a sick/abusive ******* who deserves to be in jail & rot for awhile for what he did? Obviously you have had no counseling, nor has he or the da would've dropped charges already anyways (maybe). If your "boyfriend" (abuser) strangled you and you're lying FOR him?!...you both deserve to be in jail. NO ONE has the right to put their hands on another person. NO ONE. you're a dumbass and he's a *****. I've been in an abusive relationship before. It was bad enough that I dealt w/ the emotional part for so long BUT the DAY it turned psyical i was GONE & he went to JAIL!!! HELLO!!!!??? you're an idiot. sorry.
