Do you think tradekey itself is aware of the fraud, or just being used?

Exclamation Re: tradekey.com fraud -Lanbo trading

We have just been scammed by Lanbo Trading Company. We ordered $400 worth of handbags and jeans and received a completely different order. The goods they did ship were damaged. How in the world does Tradekey exist. we thought by using Tradekey, we would be able to avoid companies like Lanbo. This company will not refund our money, replace our goods or even correspond with us further to resolve our issues. Lanbo operates fraudently. They sell sneakers, handbags, clothing, electronics, watches, etc and "everything on their website (www.shoes-view.com) they always have in stock" until you pay your money. Then they have to change your order to things they really have- none of which you wanted or ordered. Most of the replacement products are cheap, poor quality fakes. Lanbo essentially is a bait and switch type company. Dont lose your miney with Lanbo (shoes-view.com. they are cheats and you will get burned.

I read some of the messages reporting frauds by those cheated by Chinese companies they tried to do honest business with. I am very sorry to see situations like these happened. There are certain to be some bad apples out there. However, these are not representative of the general Chinese factories and businesses. I spent over 15 years working in manufacturing environment with Chinese, Taiwanese and Hongkong factories. These are all honest hardworking factories laboring long hours to meet the demands of their clients. These people would bend backward to meet requirements by foreign clients even when requests may seem unreasonable. They also give up their personal time to make sure visiting clients are well attended to throughout their visit. These are the real workers and honest factories in China. It is terrible to see the image of millions of hardworking Chinese workers tarnished by these fraudsters. On the other hand, buyers should take precautions and do some due diligence when attempting to work with factories thousands of miles away. Finding the right factory to work with is more than locating a reference in the many web information services available. It is more than just recognizing photos of products on website that identify the factory you need and sending a check. Buyers need to understand how to work with factories and in so doing buyers will be able to recognize if the factory is capable or if it is even legitimate. I would also believe that some of these “frauds” may actually be misunderstanding or bad communication that led to disputes. From my experience working with Chinese factories and with foreign clients I can say that there is a large gap in communication (processes, methodology, language, culture, etc.) between buyers and factories. Give honest Chinese factories a chance and you will develop great support for your business success - <wyinlai@yahoo.com>

yes ,there are scams on it, but there are also serious sellers and big chance.
anyway we all want bigger profit and we need to remain competitive in market so we contact suppliers from China because they have best prices. BUT we do need to check their reputation at least from their current customers.to know the seller's reputation.
P.S. I am doing with fiber optic products,I have been cooperated with www.SunrisePhotonics.com and they never failed me. that company is also listed on tradekey

Cool Re: tradekey.com fraud scam Fuzhou XC

Hi,

Yes, I agree with the Chinese guy. I mean look the thing is that buyers need to be more alert, the reason I say this is because more oftenly buyers are persuaded by the glitter of the product and the attention or customer support that is offered by the Company.

B2b Websites like TradeKey and alibaba can not be blamed. If you look at the policy of both these companies they do a lot to block and minimize the access of fraudsters. But the whole point is that these are business to business websites yet dropshipping is the main resource of doing business on these websites.

With my experience of Trading on B2B websites, I have learned that in order to do business you should do follows.

1. Ask for atleast 3 or 4 references of International buyers of the company.
2. Ask for a legitimage business license. You can get a company verified by D&B, SGS, SinoTrust etc these companies provide information about physical and financial status of the company.
3. Go for websites and get the stuff audited.
4. Never pay via Western Union! Prefer credit card and pay pal.
5. Always ...always ask for samples.

The above are going to cover you for atleast 70% of the time but the best thing is to contact your local embassy or consulate in the area and ask them if the company exists. Every embassy has a Trading office so its better to take their advice.

Also, my own recommendation is that never make a 100% payment always make 50% of the payment or 60% of the payment so that you are on the safe side.

I do believe that Chinese are great people to do business with but scammers and fraudsters exist everywhere. You just have to be careful when dealing with such situations, I mean when I have slightest of doubts on the credibility of a supplier I try not to proceed with the transaction. You can not buy Ipods, cell phones, Psp's, game consoles with cheap prices from China. Do you think Apple, Sony and Microsoft are going to keep quit if this was for real???

I got scammed by Globrandsunglass.com.cn (Tingting Song aka Emily). In case someone wants to know, this company is completely fraudulent and stole $445 from me. They claim to sell sunglasses and Lacoste shirts but they just take your money and disappear.
