B: always get multiple contact sources, and verify them all. C:Talk to them by phone. It may cost you more but really theres no person behind the screen until you talk to them, and it also allows to be able to contact them immediately if you have any doubts about whats going on. Plus if it's a scam they most likely won't have a phone number at all for you to contact them.
All good points, Anthony.

However, sadly there's an issue with the telephone concept, and that is the xiaolingtong numbers.

A xiaolingtong telephone number is a actually a very cheap number registered to a mobile device, but doesn't have the lengthy number of a mobile, and appears to be a land or fixed line number.

So, once a number has been thoroughly abused, the scammer, can simply register another for the equivalent of a few dollars or euros, and start the whole scam again without the hassle of past scammees calling and asking for their goods or money.

Therefore, a xiaolingtong number is used by the scammer with the idea of built in redundancy, and the understanding that he or she will have to buy another one a little further down the line.

I have found scammers here in China who use genuine company's credentials, address, etc. on their website, and of course, a xiaolingtong number (and so appear to have genuine backlinks to their website, or be a branch of the original parent company).

Of course, they can look quite real to those who don't have experience of these issues.

This idea of planned redundancy, is also something they do with their bank accounts.

I refer you to the following article: China's Money Mules - And Why You've Lost It For Good | The Safely Sourcing China Blog written by myself, on the subject of why once you lose your money here the chances of ever seeing it again are about zero, and entitled: China Scam – Money Mules – And Why You Will Never See Your Money Again.

I recommend readers here to take the time to understand the concept of Money Mules in China and xiaolingtong telephone numbers, as a means of getting a good handle on just what your risks are.

We were scammed by a company called chinakeel or chinakeela.com. They did send us an item however it was substantially less value than what we ordered. To put it simply instead of getting a ps3 and plasma tv we got a pair of shoes. please do not buy from these scammers. They will rip you off!!!!.

Hi, I have just been SCAMMED by a "company" that sells cell phones, laptops, and all that kind of stuff. The web page is WWW.THETOPELECTRONIC.COM, and the email address is kyle8008@hotmail.com. I bought more than a thousand dollars in iphones, and as all china fraud they didn't arrived. They gave me a tracking number for EMS shipping company, the tracking number was original but it was a tracking number to another place. They told me at the beginning that they were a serious business and that they wanted a long term business with me an all that bull**** they say to everybody. This was my first time making business with someone in china via internet. I have a small electronic business in Colombia (south America) and my suppliers were always from the States (very serious and punctual), but the prices weren't as cheap as the electronics of this fake china company. So I wanted to try with this china companies, that they say they have cheap electronics because the assembled factory of Mac, nokia, blackberry is in china, BULL****!!! DON'T BELIEVE IN THIS CHINA STORY!!

Listen people we have to do something and we can, they are thousands of people who have been scammed just like me and you. We need to build a big community against these thieves that plays with our moral and trust. I’m looking forward to make kind of a web page, a huge database with the names and address of these thieves, a place where people around the world can not only place their experience, but also start thinking of taking some action against this frauds. For example, contact big electronic companies like Mac, Nokia, Sony, etc and ask them where they have their assembled factories and stuff like that, so we can’t be cheated with fake info from the scammers, It’s time to make difference against this people who scam good and honest people around the world.

My email is globotronik@gmail.com; I’m open to ideas, question, everything, anyone who wants to write me, go ahead, let start making some changes. I speak English and Spanish. Let’s build a world solid community.

Thanks
