Exclamation Do This Before You Buy From China

The following is a letter I wrote in response to a query from someone in the US who had been scammed.

My purpose here is to illustrate a little of the DUE DILIGENCE one should perform before buying from China.

All the best,

Ken Stone

Hi (name withheld),

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience, and I understand your bitterness.

I hope the following will help to ameliorate those feelings somewhat.

Here's a little information on the guy that ripped you from wholesale818.com.

I've highlighted in bold the information which the Chinese Cyber Police can use to trace him.

Particularly due to the fact that in most cases, when setting up a website in China, one must (usually) produce one's ID card.

Therefore the company who hold this IP address should have detailed records of this person.

The other details beyond the IP address in bold and italic are his or her contact details.

I've run a search on Google and there are 106 entries for this email address (muscle0791@yahoo.com.cn).

Therefore, it seems likely that this is the email address he tends not to give out to clients; although I may be wrong on that score.

However, after running a reverse search on the address, I have discovered the following.

This email address still exists. I have run a reverse search on it and discovered the following:

: Valid email syntax
: Domain accepts email
: Successfully connected to SMTP server
: User account still exists

The IP address for their email address is: 203.209.228.230

ISP ADDRESS: 203.209.228.230

COUNTRY: CHINA

REGION/PROVINCE: LIAONING

CITY: CHAOYANG

ISP PROVIDER: ALIBABA (BEIJING) TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD

Running a variation check I have discovered that this user may be using these following alternative email in addition to the above: muscle0791@yahoo.com.cn

The following link will take the Chinese police to all of the social networks this email address is registered with:

"muscle0791@yahoo.com.cn" - Yahoo! Search Results

This email address has currently not been blacklisted by any of the following organisations; thus leading me to believe that it is still used for his or her "personal" purposes, as opposed to "business".

Of course, (Name Withheld), it is better to perform these checks along with others, before carrying out any transactions with companies anywhere in the world, never mind China.

I hope this has been of some assistance to you, and I further hope that should you decide to pursue any future business relations in China, that you will come to me first, as a means of protection and assistance.

Kind regards,

Ken Stone

Comments:shishiwang (Shenzhen) Trade Co., Ltd. is an international import and export of China's largest trading companies in a very good reputation internationally for many years by a number of trade sectors recognition. China's import and export companies as a symbol. Their business products in China, most of the world's largest manufacturer of resources to provide global products and cheap, but prices are very low and in line with international standards of product quality. And an international guarantee, 7 days, standard products can be returned in the same type of goods provided the price is the lowest in the world. Industry in the provision of services trade is the best. They are global procurement in China's best partners and suppliers.

Well, I'm convinced!

Firstly, they don't even have their own domain.

Secondly, even the Live site isn't properly finished, and also fails to even get a mention in google.

Thirdly, the English is machine (software) translated, and so sounds like a load of nonsense; and from which we can infer they don't have any properly qualified staff to deal with foreigners.

Fourthly, they merit only one mention on Goolge after, and I quote: "many years... ...recognition"

Fifthly, they were removed from WikiPedia for "Unambiguous advertising or promotion"

I don't know about you, but I'm going to rush off and order something from them now!

NOT! and NEVER! are two words which leap screaming into my head.

No, sadly, I don not feel inspired with any great confidence in these people at all.

What's with the quoting me, and then making no comment of your own?

Hi Ken,
I am looking to do some small-time importing. Just something to keep busy while the hubby is in Iraq. I am a one person LLC,(2 when the hubby is home, but he tends to just let me do my thing and not ask questions) I am looking for a reputable company that manufactures Micro SDHC cards, SanDisk and Kingston particularly 16GB, 32GB, 64GB 128GB. I have found a few companies on made-in-china.com and have sent inquiries, but they seem to dodge specific questions and just want me to "trust that they are safe" and western union them money. I am not an idiot. If you are able to find me a company who makes these products I will be most grateful. I have scoured the internet and almost booked a flight to China just to I can have some face time, buy my product and fly home. I am looking to move 100-200 items per month, and will happily pay the 5% every time I place an order. Please contact me at dmorganenterprisesllc@gmail.com it's attached to my blackberry so I will respond right away if I am not busy. I appreciate your time, and if I were living in China I would do the same.

Thanks in advance
Denise
