Default are there any laws when dealing with DHGate.com?

Has anyone else had problems with China's 'Fast Trading Marketplace' DHGate.com??

I know that sellers who want to sell their goods on eBay are bound by certain rules about listing exactly what you sell etc. etc.etc.

I had just recently made 10 purchases from about 6 sellers on DHGate, thinking it was safer due to their Escrow service, but having the received the items - not at all in any way resembling the listign description, or accompanying photographs - I realised that not only were they misleading in their listing, but they had also stolen the listing photos and description from an eBay online store.

Are there any rules/laws about these things?

And what rights do I have as the consumer who was cheated? How can I possibly get my money back from these crooks? DHGate is not helping, and are about to relese paymetn to these guys.....

HELP!

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your issue but this was my question on another thread...

HOW are the funds released to the seller? Is it first approved by the buyer or is it simply when a shipment shows "delivered." What would stop a seller from shipping just an empty box?

Get a police report filed ASAP locally and in China if you feel they outright defrauded you.

Question Re: are there any laws when dealing with DHGate.com?

So this is my question...what constitutes fraud?

They DID send me the item - just not the one that was listed. (I deal in high-end, top quality human hair wigs, they listed and put up pictures of some very top-brand wigs which are worth over $1,000 - $3,000 USD each retail....what they sent me was the fake plastic stuff that I can buy for $10AUD at the local markets...which puts me about almost $1,000 USD out in total) Is this fraud? And is it fraud enough to get police involved? I am also dealing with 6 different sellers...not just one.

I have tried contacting DHGate directly, all they do is repeat their dispute policy - which is that they will not get involved unless the dispute is 'escalated' and passed onto them. An action that cannot be taken until 15 working days after it was opened! However, if you want a refund, you have to return the goods within 5 working days and supply a tracking number! Buyer carries all shipping costs...and the sellers won't give return details.

Bloody Chinese!!!

Unfortunately, for most people, it's understood that Dhgate sells fraudulent products, otherwise their prices wouldn't be as low. Most, if not all the items on Dhgate, are fakes. This includes DVD box sets, iPods, clothes, etc. and in your case, wigs. I don't think there is much you can do at this point. A company that's halfway across the world (assuming you're in the States) with a population of over 1 billion isn't interested in your "petty" claim. That's the issue with buying/selling/trading online; there's always a risk, especially when you're dealing with non reputable companies overseas. Just take this as a learning experience, move forward, and let it go.

**I too was ripped off by Dhgate. Don't feel bad.
