Missouri spousal support
Im a resident of and stationed in Missouri. My wife is a resident of Missouri. We have been married for almost 4 1/2 years. I'm currently deployed overseas, but will be returning home "soon". During our marriage my wife had the oppurtunity to go to school or get a job, but she decided she wanted to be a stay at home mom. All she did though was sleep late and sit on the couch and watch TV the whole time she was awake with NO household chores being done, I did everything. We have a 3 year old son which I have no problems paying child support for plus buying him clothes, toys, and such, but now she wants me to make the $400 a month car payment while she keeps the car after the divorce on top of whatever child support the state says i must pay,and/or alimony, which I cannot afford and still live comfortably. I'm an E-5 in the Air Force and take home approximately $34,000 a year in base pay and entitlements. She just now finally got a job and I'm assuming it would be in the $7-8/hr range. She is living with her parents. I am paying the car payment, insurance, cell phone and all other bills that we have ( credit cards), while placing $400 a month into an account that she has access to for expenses. ( since she overdrafted the account by hundreds of dollars multiple times when my whole paycheck was in there) I have agreed to take on our approx $10,000 in credit card debt and to let her have physical custody of my son, with us both having joint custody due to my job. We have no other assets except the car which is more of a debt then an asset ( I still owe $9,000) I'm trying to contact a lawyer back home to put on a retainer, but its easier said than done from where I am at. This started out being an uncontested divorce, but her and her lawyer have decided they want to take me for everything they can get. So, what are her chances of being awarded any spousal support, and if so how much? What are the chances of me having to pay her legal fees ( I would be willing to pay 1/2 of the cost of the fees for an uncontested divorce, but nothing more), and since I'm here does anyone know an approximate amount of child support I might have to pay? I just want to move on with my life and enjoy as much time with my son as possible, but without getting taken for everything I have. Thank You.
