Six month Wisconsin State Law before remarrying
I am currently getting divorced, should be done on January 11, 2008, my question is this. In Wisconsin there is a state law that decrees I cannot remarry until 6 months after the divorce is final. Does this mean that I just can't remarry in the state of Wisconsin and reside there, or does it mean I can't marry anywhere in the world as long as I'm not planning on residing in Wisconsin. But would be visiting on and off with family members there. Will I be breaking the law and held accountable if I were to return there married before the six months is up?

That would only apply in WI normally.
But consult a lawyer in any jurisdiction where do you want to marry as well. |
