I have furniture from my previous marriage that had a balance left oweing on the account that I was unaware that my name was on. I am divorced now and she called me to say that the finance company was calling her about the money left on the account but it was not put in the divorce agreement as a financial obligation for me and I thought it had been paid for. I am in possession of the furniture and she says that her lawyer stated that I was responsible for it since I had possession of it. They say that I am listed as a comaker on the account. Since it was not in the agreement that I pay anything on this account, am I responsible?
