Does he have any responsibility?
Hello,
My husband left 2 1/2 years ago- but for some reason has dragged out our divorce. He agreed to filing the papers etc but is not carrying it through. Anyway, we all have coverage under his work insurance (I am a freelancer and don't have insurance through work). I had to have surgery and with a $2500 deductible - I am billed almost the whole amount (which will go towards the family deductible). Does he have any responsibility to pay part of the deductible or will he be able to just reap the benefits of 100% coverage after I pay it (seeing that I had the surgery first-before he had to use the insurance)? Please let me know. We are still legally married (not even legally separated). Thanks! |

The court is not going to intervene if you two are married but if you actually do file for divorce this will all get divided up and resolved. Otherwise normally you two just have to work it out.
