Confused How Long for Judgement?

My ex and I submitted a Stipulation for Judgment to the court somewhere around 4/6/07. How long should we expect it to take until the judge signs it and it is entered as judgment? It is Riverside county, CA, if that makes a difference. Is there any way I can find out, even an approximation or where it is in the queue? This has been so stressful and I just want for it to be over (started over a year ago). The only answer I have received so far is that it is indeterminate. Is there a maximum amount of time that it can sit on the judge's desk, at least?

No--but after 90 days you could certainly inquire again and ask for it to be done.

Smile Re: How Long for Judgement?

I went into the court and showed them a paper for assuming my mortgage, which requires a divorce decree and asked for a copy of my divorce decree. The clerk said that the paperwork was sent to the judge for signature a week ago Friday and that it should be signed within a week or two. I thought it was sent to the judge a long time ago, but apparently not, or at least something happened because she was reading it off of her computer screen. I'm hopeful that it will happen soon! )

Angry Re: How Long for Judgement?

Well, it's been much longer than the one week they predicted for the judgment to be entered. I called and they said that I could file a declaration requesting to have my judgement expedited, so I did. I don't know how that works, if it works, or how fast it works, but we'll see what happens. The reason I gave was that I only have until July 5 to complete some of the requirement of the signed stipulated judgment, but some of those requirements require a copy of the divorce decree, so I'm between a rock and a hard place. Any thoughts?

Well, I guess it worked. They entered the judgement the day they received the request to expedite. They made the effective date a month earlier. Obviously, they were just sitting on it for no good reason. Apparently, you just have to ask them to do their job in a timely manner. Anyway, it's all done now. Thanks for your input.
