Divorce getting finalized while in jail.

Is it possible that my wife is waiting to finalize the divorce while I'm in jail. I might be going to jail for the domestic charge. Hope not but odds are I will. While I'm in jail, can she take and get whatever she wants or do I get any kind of a say so as to how things will get spilt up? Would they allow me to have visitations if she comes to talk about how to split items up. She was moving this divorce fast and all of a sudden came to a hault. Seems like somethings up. Not sure what.

I wish to inform you that divorce may take place even when you may be in jail. However, in this regard you will get a right to defense. A person always has a right to present his arguments and to object to the other party. Further, the US Constitution gives a party right to be heard before the court. In this regard, a divorce may not be granted without giving you an opportunity to be heard in the court. Visitation can be made by your wife in jail. Although rules vary from state to state, but generally through Sheriff's office a visitation can be arranged in jail.
