online divorce

I am from missouri. My husband just gave me some papers that he recieved for an online divorce. We have divided most of our pesonal possesions already as we have been seperated for a year ,but I am feeling pretty unconfortable about the house that is both our names. He lives in it part time and I have been living elsewhere sense we split up. He has been paying the house payment for the past year. He wants to get the house refinanced and in his name and pay me half the appraisel value. Is this a good Idea? Also sense he has gave me these papers am I required to do this type of divorce or can I demand that we get our divorce with the aid of a lawyer. In other words can I refuse to do this type of divorce. I just want to make sure that I am not taken advantage of even though I dont really have the funds to pay for legal aid.

You certainly can and probably should have a lawyer check what is happening--especially if you have home equity involved.
