Confused Husband wants a divorce a little confused

My husband of 2 years wants a divorce. I am unemployed, he works, he told me i could attend college and her would support me until i graduated. His reason for the divorce is he wants to be alone. No other reasons. He left 20 days ago and went to his grandmothers and hasn't came home. We have one child together and i have two from a previous relationship. But they know him as there dad. He said he would pay for rental property for two months and I could get assistance from the state until I finish school.

I was wondering if since he agreed to support me and he is the one who wants out. Should he have to pay me alimony or at least get us a place to stay until I can get on my feet? If I am able to get alimony from him should that be mentioned in the paper work to start the divorce or would it be mentioned to the judge?
I just don't think I should have to live off the state when he is the one who decided to leave.

Also he told me if I signed papers for divorce he would come back for the 90 day wait until the divorce is final. Should I trust him?

I would not trust him.

Get your own lawyer and make sure you get your fair share and that it is all documented.

You don't have to live off the state. You can get a job. Sometimes life's changes force us to change our plans a little. With children, your schooling, if full-time, needs to be cut back so you can get out, get a job and support yourself and your children.

It doesn't matter who decides they want out. That doesn't mean they are shouldered with the responsibility of taking care of another adult who is capable of taking care of him/herself.

You probably won't receive alimony since you have only been married a short time. You will be able to get child support, but only for the child(ren) that are legally his responsibility.

It's assumed by courts that both parties this day and age work and can support themselves if the other party decides to leave. He does not need a reason other than he doesn't want to be married anymore to divorce you. Never depend on another person to financially support you.
