Confused How to avoid default

I am defendant in divorce. I cannot afford an atty. I gave my Notice of Appearance but didn't realize that my Verified Answer was due at that time as well. Therefore, it was late and plaintiff's atty rejected it. His atty hasn't yet filed an RJI (although it's been over 45 days since I was served original papers). I was told I could file a motion for Admission of Late Answer with the court, but I am assuming I'd have to file the RJI as well?

I am so lost in all of this and the answers just aren't found anywhere. I am trying to avoid a default ruling. Please help!

Default Re: How to avoid default

You are correct you can file late and the court will almost certainly approve. I had the same experience.

You might email world law direct on their home page or at contact us below. They can help you prepare documents that you can file yourself and the cost is fairly low. I used the service for my divorce and did all court hearings myself.
