Angry I AM NEW AND NEED SOME HELP

okay I have a story to tell butneed some answers i dont know what all the questions ae and will try and make it short. My gf and I of 12 years split up she cleaned out the house took my name off the bank accounts, claims she is moving out of state, has filed an order of protection against me and will not allow me too even speak too our three children ages 8,6,3. guess first question is can she do that with the children ( the order) as well as moving without any custody order in place? secondly she stated in the papers for court that she has tried too move out and I would not let her however I had the police over one night tryin to get her to move out and she refused. I guessI am asking for any advice anyone can give me as to any problems I may have, I live iniowa if that matters as I know laws are different state to state.

Have you appeared at court and let the judge know your side?

It would seem if what you say is correct that the judge would give different orders and require the situation to be investigated.

Have you had a trial date for your PFA order? You are entitled to have your day in court when someone brings serious accusations against you. The first order of business is to get that lifted, or to at least omit the children's names from the order.

You really need to consult an attorney for this, sorry to say. It's your best choice. Do it asap before more damage is done to sever the ties between you and your children. They are the true victims in situations like this. All too often the courts sign these PFA orders without any real evidence there has been any violence. It's another weapon in the court condoned arsenal that some people use against another in order to be vindictive.
