Regarding Divorce in the Dominican Republic.


Under Chapter IV, Article 27 of the Dominican Republic Divorce Law, a couple cannot divorce by *Mutual Consent* if:


(1) They have been married for less than 2 years;
(2) They have been living together after marriage for 30 years;
(3) The husband is at least 60 years old; or
(4) The wife is at least 50 years old.


Please note that his limitation ONLY applies to divorce by "mutual consent".

"Chapter IV, Art. 27 - Divorce by mutual consent will not be admissible until after two years of marriage, as neither it will be after thirty years of common life, neither when the husband has at least sixty years of age and the woman fifty."

Interesting --if not a bit restrictive.
