Can this marriage be annulled?

I have been married to this man since July 4, 2009. (Not very long at all)
2 Weeks ago he started to be abusive. He never got to finish being abusive because the same night that he first put his hands on me, I left and went to my mothers house and I have been there ever since. I don't want to go back into that environment because I have two children that I have to worry about. My two children are not for my husband.

Do you think that this marriage could be annulled??

Honestly, I am very young and I didn't actually know about annulment until he put his hands on me and I talked to a friend about it.

So if someone can fill me in on what exactly annulment involves as well.

This is not grounds for anullment. You need to seek a Divorce. Before doing that seek a protective order as hes likely to get very upset once served with Divorce papers
