Red Face Retirement issues

My divorce states that I am to receive 50% of my x retirement earned from nov 1989 to 2001 seperation of marriage when and if he ever reached vested status. The military is now saying the formula is not one they can use to calculate my portion of his retirement and that I need a clarifying order.

How do I go about getting a clarifying order? Do I have to go back to state where divorce was decreed or can I do this from my current residential state? Does this involve notifying him and battling again?

HELP! I just want this all over so I can go on in peace with my new life.

The same court that issued the original order can do it; you can often appear by phone as well.

The military finds it difficult to calculate what half means?

They should not need a clarifying order. It sounds like a stall tactic.

I agree...it is clear.

...make sure you get their specific issue/concern in writing.
