I live in PA and am wondering what options I have to end this marriage.
My ex will not sign the divorce papers for the Non-Contested divorce because I will not hand over our child to his parents whenever they want him with no supervision. The entire family has drug, alcohol and violence issues. My ex and his two brothers have been in jail more times that I can count for alcohol, drugs and violence crimes. His mother and step father are not any better. I heard from a friend that if I post under the newspaper in our area about wanting a divorce, and if he doesn't respond etc, that the judge may just go in my favor and grant the divorce. A full blown divorce is so expensive and will do what I have to for a divorce. If someone can give me advice, I would be so appreciative! |

You are under no obligation to hand over your child to anyone, including grandparents, with no supervision.
If he is in prison for 16-32 years, he will not be a part of this child's life on any level that could possibly be beneficial. Yes, you can get a divorce whether or not he signs divorce papers. If he refuses to sign them, you can still get a divorce by default. The law doesn't recognize forcing people to stay married. Your husband is in an extremely bad position to be making demands, threats, or blackmail attempts. You might want to consult with an attorney in your area. Many offer free first time consultations. Then you will know what your options are. Good luck to you. |

If i were in the same situation, i would do the same thing! I will NOT give my child to a family of alcoholic and drug addicts. You'd better take legal action for this to get your children back. Seek help from your state, i think some state office offer free legal assistance. You can also check online for affordable uncontested divorce services
