Confused 4 yrs after divorce and going after assets now!

My fiance and his ex wife have been divorced for about 3 yrs now. It was just a plain divorce...with no written agreements. He helped her get set up in her apartment when she moved out. He just paid her car off which was in both of their names and would watch her dogs for her. Now...that we are trying to move on with our own life...she decided that she was going to threaten him. She said that if they can no longer be friends...then she wants $10,000 or she is getting a lawyer to force him to sell the house (which is also in both of their names...but will no longer be next month because she signed papers to put it in his name. I guess all of the refinancing stuff doesn't go through until next month.) can she do this?

If she has already signed documents before a notary that grants her interest in the property over to him solely, then she is just blowing smoke. She cannot now hire an attorney to force him to sell property she's already deeded over to him. Or perhaps she can try, but no attorney (worth his/her salt) is going to touch her with a 10 foot pole.

If she wants to hire an attorney to force him to do anything, she'd better be aware of how costly that gets in a short amount of time.

Don't get alarmed. This is just her last ditch desperate act to try to hold onto him in any way she can.
