Default Divorce and Living Situation Questions. NEED LAWYER ADVISE please.

My wife and I are looking to get a home or apartment in the near future, but are unclear on all the laws involving living situations and are trying to reduce cost. We live in California at the moment. My questions are as follows:

1. Is it ok to live in a house and/or apartment with unmarried single friends and/or married friends?

2. If you are divorced, are there any limitations on you and your ex spouse living together for an indefinite period of time?

3. If you do get a divorce and choose to live together still; does your status return fully back to single? And if so is it ok to live with other unmarried friends in a house and/or apartment along with your ex spouse?

Thank you for your help.

Default Re: Divorce and Living Situation Questions. NEED LAWYER ADVISE please.

You are not prohibited legally from doing any of those things.

If you start sharing expenses etc. you can over time develop a partnership which then may have to be addressed if you depart etc.

But normally these issues should not be a problem.
