Compensation

Hi…my fiancé was separated & deserted by his wife leaving him without any form of communication for 10 years. the wife only started sending letters (threatening letters) last few months back this year after knowing that we are engaged and now having a baby…my fiancé doesn’t want to re-unite with her because of what she has done in the past…she & her brother ill-treated him (physical torture) before they got separated. My fiancé wants a legal separation with her but she is saying that she’ll ask a huge compensation. I want to know if she still has the right for compensation after ill-treating & deserting him for 10 years…please advice…
