How to divorce from abroad?

Hello, i'm ukrainian women who was married to U.S. Citizen in Kenya in 1999 where we lived until our son was born in 2005. Due to personal problems we had to leave Kenya. My husband went back to Usa to prepare for us documents and i went to Ukraine to wait for permission to join him. But after 6 month he decided he doesn't need family any more and simply abandon us. He doesn't call or show any interest in our son and doesn't help financially. Currently i'm back to Kenya and wish to divorce and get child support. What is the best way to do it? Can i hire a lawyer in Usa to divorce there? If i divorce in Kenya i'm afraid i won't be able to get child support from Usa.
