Divorce from a foreigner.
Hi I got married at the Canadian embassy in Seoul, South Korea. I got married to a Nigerian man and we never registered the marriage back in Canada. The reason we never did that was because 2-3 weeks after we got married, he was deported back to Nigeria for having an expired VISA. I was not aware that he was not legal in Korea. Now it is 3 years later and I have no had contact with him except a phone call after he arrived back in Nigeria. I have no way to contact him and wish to get a divorce but not sure what I must do since I do not have any contact information for him and have no idea on how to find him. Also others have told me that I should check and see if I can even get the marriage annulled. I would appreciate any information that anyone is able to pass on to me.

You can divorce where you reside in Canada, even without him, if you cannot locate him.
The court may have you place a notice in newspapers etc. |
