I am an Indian citizen. I was abandoned by my husband. He has H1 visa.
I am an Indian citizen girl married to an indian citizen boy who is a practicing physician on H1 visa in Kansas city. I came to US in May 2007 6 months after getting married in India. Since first day my husband has been abusing me mentally and humiliating me, saying repeatedly that the marriage has been forced on him, that he loves another girl, and forcing me to go back to India. Because of his repeated forcing me to leave I decided to go live with my relatives in new york, so that I could get some legal options. I am on H4 and I cannot work and I have no financial resources. Can I ask my husband to support me financially till I become financially self sufficient. I do not want to go back to India as this will shatter my parents. What are my legal options?

You can file for divorce and you can expect some kind of support.
Get legal counsel asap and/or email World Law on their home page. |
